Autumn is here and I couldn't be happier! If you know me, you know that heat and sun are not my friends. I prefer rain and cooler weather so I can snuggle up with my daughter at home, make yummy soups and watch movies.
With such a pleasant change comes a challenge that may freak some of you out. And that is a big lash shed. All of a sudden, those beautiful eyelash extensions will come out at a faster rate than you've ever seen. Before you panic, I want you to know this is completely normal and there is a great explanation for it.
So why does this happen?
"In a nut shell ( and having researched this) we have hair to protect us from the sun, so in the autumn and coinciding with the equinox we no longer need as much hair so we start to shed it.
Don't believe me then take a look at the plug hole in your shower at this time of the year and then you will know!!! In order for our bodies to produce hair it must pump blood to those cells, but in the winter when our immunity is lower due to lack of vitamin D our bodies will divert blood to our major organs instead of our hair which we no longer really need." - Frankie Widdows of Eyelash Excellence ltd
I couldn't have said it better!
So when you see those lashes shedding, don't worry. It's completely normal and they'll grow back in time for your retouch appointment so you can be full and fluffy again.
